Dental extractions.

Here are few fundamental reasons that lead to dental extractions:

  1. A decayed tooth that can’t be saved.
  2. A broken or chipped tooth.
  3. Wisdom tooth that hurts.
  4. During an orthodontic treatment.
  5. A loosened tooth, often related to gum disease.
  6. An adult tooth takes the place of a baby tooth.

The dentists at our clinics will take care of your oral health and will answer all your questions. We will assist and guide you with all the required information before and after the surgery, so that you’ll be as comfortable as possible.

Gingival graft.

When a tooth looses its gum protection, a gingival graft will reinforce the remaining gum and slow down the process of gum recession. This surgery has preventive and restorative aspects protecting, reinforcing and maintaining the tooth and its connective tissue. The loss of this tissue may endanger the healthy state of the teeth.

Advice and instructions.

  1. Spitting should be avoided during the first 24 hours to not dislodge the blood clot and cause continuous bleeding.

  2. Rinsing should be avoided during the first 24 hours. It is only the next day that you can rinse with warm water (room temperature) and salt.

  3. Do not smoke for the first 4 days.

  4. Recommended dietary modifications: liquids for the first 24 hours. During the 48 – 72 hours, gradually go back to the normal diet.

  5. It is normal to feel some pain during the first 48 – 72 hours. You can take the prescribed medication (if it’s the case). If the pain persists, call us.

  6. Swelling should also be expected. To reduce the swelling, apply ice indirectly to the intervention site for 15 minutes.

  7. Bite into the dry pad immediately after the surgery and for 30 minutes. Change the pad when needed. If the bleeding continues, replace the pad with a moist tea bag for 30 minutes while maintaining continuous pressure. Repeat the process when needed.

  8. Bruises might appear on the skin surface.

  9. It is normal if you experience some difficulty opening your mouth. This pain will vanish during the next couple of days of the surgery.
