    When a tooth looses its gum protection, a gingival graft will reinforce the remaining gum and slow down the process of gum recession. This surgery has preventive and restorative aspects protecting, reinforcing and maintaining the tooth and its connective tissue.     1. Spitting should be avoided during the first 24 hours to not dislodge the blood clot and cause continuous bleeding.<\/p><\/li>

    2. Rinsing should be avoided during the first 24 hours. It is only the next day that you can rinse with warm water (room temperature) and salt.<\/p><\/li>

    3. Do not smoke for the first 4 days.<\/p><\/li>

    4. Recommended dietary modifications: liquids for the first 24 hours. During the 48 \u2013 72 hours, gradually go back to the normal diet.<\/p><\/li>

    5. It is normal to feel some pain during the first 48 \u2013 72 hours. You can take the prescribed medication (if it\u2019s the case). If the pain persists, call us.<\/p><\/li>

    6. Swelling should also be expected. To reduce the swelling, apply ice indirectly to the intervention site for 15 minutes.<\/p><\/li>

    7. Bite into the dry pad immediately after the surgery and for 30 minutes. Change the pad when needed. If the bleeding continues, replace the pad with a moist tea bag for 30 minutes while maintaining continuous pressure. Repeat the process when needed.<\/p><\/li>

    8. Bruises might appear on the skin surface.<\/p><\/li>
